New to Forex, Why does IML suck?
Hello, I was completely blind to the idea of Forex until I was introduced to IML. After some googling, I understand that people see IML as a scam. Mainly because of how it is a MLM company but also a source of education- although the education is arguably bad in comparison to free education such as from babypips. I know a lot of people are saying that the education is not worth the money you pay, and if you're doing the MLM portion you're bad person for introducing them to other people, but I would just like some feedback on IML themselves and if it really is as bad as people say, regardless of the MLM perspective. A lot of reviews discussed their "Autotrader" which they have by now removed and also discussed other add-ons, I just want feedback about their main features, such as the "Harmonic Scanner" and also about their community. As when you join you get bombarded with invites to several different forex chat rooms. They also market their education as infamously offering "earning while you're learning", I was curious if their ForEx mentors, Harmonic Scanner and community are worth it? Thanks :)
Instagram forex traders will not make you successful.
I feel like I need to have a rant. I have been trading for just over a year now and I have just started to become profitable. What made me profitable? Blocking out all of the rubbish that comes from forex Instagram. I didn’t find a fancy new strategy. I’m using the strategy that I formed in the first 3 months of me trading. So why only now am I starting to become profitable when I knew about the strategy almost a year ago? Because i chose to digest information coming from instagram forex traders. I’m not talking about the obvious scammers you see on your Instagram feed such as IML, broker commission marketers, or any of the likes. I’m talking about the select few that portray themselves as trading veterans and are popular in the trading community. They are constantly posting on their stories/profile 24/7. At least once a day they will post something like ‘only 2 slots left In my mentorship’ or ‘come join my free telegram channel’. Warning: if a trader you follow is trying to promote something, even if it’s just for Instagram followers, unfollow them. They will not help you become successful. So I had my strategy by month 3 of trading. I backtested it and it worked. But I started taking advice from these traders, I got my hands on a few of their courses and my trading began to fail. Every single course was pathetic. Never showed any live trading. No proof of anything. Always making excuses of why they can’t tag their MyFxBook. I unfollowed all these ‘traders’ and now I am profitable. Rant over.
Hello y'all, First time posting here. I'm a fellow INTP 5w6. I am currently a Mechanical Engineer Major. I'm a sophomore in my major. I'm 20 about to turn 21. As the title says I fear of being wasted. I chose Mechanical Engineering because it's the only career choice I do like, the whole engineering process is amazing and I really do enjoy engineering, but i've lost all hope and motivation in school. I'm tired of studying and wasting my time in school. I've failed 5 different classes and repeated 3 classes 3 times, and basically have been stuck in my sophomore year for a whole 3 semesters. Failing those classes has put me on academic probation. I don't want to go to school anymore. Don't get me wrong I am grateful to be going but I just feel like engineering might not be the choice for me. I've tried looking at other majors but none of them interest me as much as Mechanical Engineering does. Also I sorta don't want to switch majors because it feels like i'm taking the easy way out and being a waste of potential, and in the future i'll regret it. I know I can definitely graduate as a mechanical engineer, but like I said I have no motivation to keep going. Things i do enjoy is finance, such as the stock market and forex. I actually enjoy learning about the stock market, forex, building business from nothing to something big. I really enjoy marketing and making a company big. I would consider myself a entrepreneur. Not the I just spent my entire paycheck on a designer belt and watch Gary Vee (no hate to Gary Vee, he actually has some good content but yall get the point) and post inspirational quotes influencers on instagram "entrepreneur." I'm talking about a real entrepreneur. I'm always on the lookout for new business ideas to make more money on the side. I've started a couple businesses that are doing well at the moment.Im also in the stock/forex/crypto market. (NOT IML. Actual trading on analysis not getting people under me) I'm doing good in it, actually pulling in some profit each month. I haven't had much time to put more focus on the businesses and scale them higher, since most of my time is focused on the high demand of school trying not to fail again and working trying to pay for school. Sorry for the long rant. This is my current situation, I was hoping yall had some advice? What are my fellow INTP's careers? Thank y'all for your time reading this huge wall of text.
[META] Recent scam/spam trends.. Or, a peak inside what it's like to moderate /r/forex
After a few...especially trying...interactions with unhappy ban recipients today, I thought it would be fun to share a little info on what moderators do to keep this place clean. :) The forex industry is full of shady characters. Any industry sitting on the intersection of financial independence, work, and money, is bound to attract them. There are many reasons for this; the lower barrier to entry compared to other markets, the lack of public knowledge on the subject, and greedy human nature to name a few. Moderating a subreddit dedicated to forex (or anything trading realted for that matter,) presents extra challenges beyond your regular sub. Marketers and scammers are super motivated, and MLM / referral marketing is extremely popular right now, which can turn everyday regular users into sources of spam. How we currently tackle this problem involves technology (scripts, bots, and automod,) a mod review workflow, and some smart sleuthing when needed. The mod team and our scripts aren't perfect though... but the few false positives we get are a very, very small fraction of all mod actions taken (~1%.) Unfortunately, that means some otherwise sincere members get handled roughly, and that can really suck.. I wish there was a better way, but the alternative is this place becomes a wild west and starts looking like your gmail spam folder. That said, here's my personal stats for JUST the last 24 hours:
Bans: 14[edit:16 nowbefore day's end, two more responding to a 'where can I learn how to trade' post.]
All mod actions (including bans, post and comment removal, etc..): 63
Ban appeals: 2
And I'm just one of the mods. . . So what scammer and marketing trends are we seeing lately?
Content marketing - Infographics with instagram handles watermarked in them, or a blog-like post with a embedded links to their own site.
Personal/direct selling - trying to move the conversation out of public view, usually by taking things to DM, or promoting a 3rd party chatroom where the rules here no longer apply.
Shills - Fake accounts used to boost the credit of another user, or service. It's no coincidence that a user asking about 'ULRA PRO SIGNALZ' will quickly have 5+ replies by low karma, new users, saying how great the service is. [edit:here's an example I just caught..]
Fake P/L Porn - We see this quite often. It's easy to fake MT4 account statements and MT4 Mobile screenshots, and new users can't tell the difference so these posts will get a lot of undeserved attention. When people ask how OP made such mad cash, a sales pitch is usually coming right up.
Honestly, it can be really frustrating at times.. luckily the scripts we have in place make weeding out ~80% of these jokers quite easy and quick. Heck, we had one scammer who blew through 12+ accounts over the last few days trying to scam people but none of their posts ever saw the light of day thanks to the spam triggers I've written. What motivates the mod team to keep this place clean? That's an easy answer: The majority of users here are new to trading. Making sure they aren't food for the wolves is important. But even with all the measures we take, some bad actors still get through. So here's where you can help: Use the report button! Anytime you see something that you think fits the descriptions listed above, or violates our sidebar rules, just report it. Even if you're not 100% sure, don't be afraid to use the report tool.. The worst thing that can happen is the mod team reviews and approves it, but the best outcome is you directly help keep this place clean and humming! :) And the mod team is always looking to improve where it can: I've already talked about what we do to scrub away bad actors, but one place we could do better is education. The plan is to rewrite a good portion of the wiki to include the following sections:
Spotting scams and scammers
How to properly compare brokers and regulatory bodies
The real reason why your old high school friend wants you to sign up to IML, and 10 ways to politely tell him to pound sand
No, that hot instagram model won't sleep with you if you buy her online course
Why all signal services are trash and can die in a fire
(Titles above are a work in progress ;P) Are you a good writer and want to help out with this? Think you can write up a killer wiki article on spotting scam artists? Message the mods and let us know! Finally, a reminder, we are still interested in taking on more moderators and will be revisiting that very shortly. If you'd be interested, read through this post and reply accordingly: https://www.reddit.com/Forex/comments/h7ok6k/seeking_more_mods_recruitment_thread/
Top five scams with BTC and cryptocurrencies in Venezuela active this 2020. And maybe other parts. In your countries which states are known?
1-The hacker "El Esteban": He stole cryptocurrencies from accounts abroad .. He was moderately discovered by local authorities but never the identity of the person. 2-IM Mastery Academy (The New Economy). It's actually the same old pyramid scheme born in 2013, iMarketsLive (IML). A supposed academy that will allow you great income in a short time investing with cryptocurrencies and in the stock market. 3-DoubleWay. I think this is one of the most popular, the promise is to join their ETH smart contract and in a few weeks you will level up and have profits, however you had to find people to associate and level up. "All the management of the website is made up of a classic pyramid scheme" 4-FF Token; a Token promoted by a recognized actor in the country, however this currency does not have an investment structure or any roadmap, it is also promoted as "The cryptocurrency that could become the new BTC". Now, the person behind this token already has a history with other scam assets for more than 1500 million dollars. 5-Fergcryptoption: and this last one looks like many other scams. They describe themselves as a company dedicated to cloud mining, trading, and Forex. The omission of data as important as how many miners they own, where they are and how much they mine per day is something that should be noticed at first glance. In other words, it has the biggest red flags of scam. Comment below on the scams that have become known in their countries.
I’m new to forex and have been learning about it through babypips for about a week. I’ve seen my friends partner groups like “IML” claiming how easy it is and how they just copy and past signals and are getting free money essentially. Can any of you experienced traders speak to the validity of their claims of “forex being easy,” and explain your experiences?
Hello everyone! I'm currently looking into learning as much as I can about FX before actually trading. I've met with people who are a part of iMarketsLive and they said its a great place to learn and get started but I also feel like this might be a thing these members say to get you to join for commission or something? I'd like to learn what are trusty brokers that allows trading with US and would love to know where I can get started with basics on FX trading in general. Books, videos, free websites anyone knows that could help me learn would be amazing! I'm mostly doing this to educate myself and hopefully make some money on the side! Hope to learn a lot from this community!
So here's the story. About a year ago I started forex when IML became this huge thing at my college (Texas tech) and I went and joined IML, paid about $200, and regretted it the next morning. Being introduced to forex in such a pyramid scheme way, I didn't even give it a shot and just dropped it. Now I'm back and I'm actually wanting to learn the market and how to trade. From new investors and from the vets, what are the ways you guys learned to successfully trade. Books, YouTubers, websites, all are welcome.
Hey everyone, I’m new to the forex community thought i have been in the IML academy (which failed) and I wanted to know if anyone would be kind enough to help me with developing my skills . I know this will take time and i understand the process but I honestly don’t know where to start . Thanks
How to get started in Forex - A comprehensive guide for newbies
Almost every day people come to this subreddit asking the same basic questions over and over again. I've put this guide together to point you in the right direction and help you get started on your forex journey. A quick background on me before you ask: My name is Bob, I'm based out of western Canada. I started my forex journey back in January 2018 and am still learning. However I am trading live, not on demo accounts. I also code my own EA's. I not certified, licensed, insured, or even remotely qualified as a professional in the finance industry. Nothing I say constitutes financial advice. Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, but everything I've outlined below is a synopsis of some tough lessons I've learned over the last year of being in this business. LET'S GET SOME UNPLEASANTNESS OUT OF THE WAY I'm going to call you stupid. I'm also going to call you dumb. I'm going to call you many other things. I do this because odds are, you are stupid, foolish, and just asking to have your money taken away. Welcome to the 95% of retail traders. Perhaps uneducated or uninformed are better phrases, but I've never been a big proponent of being politically correct. Want to get out of the 95% and join the 5% of us who actually make money doing this? Put your grown up pants on, buck up, and don't give me any of this pc "This is hurting my feelings so I'm not going to listen to you" bullshit that the world has been moving towards. Let's rip the bandage off quickly on this point - the world does not give a fuck about you. At one point maybe it did, it was this amazing vision nicknamed the American Dream. It died an agonizing, horrible death at the hand of capitalists and entrepreneurs. The world today revolves around money. Your money, my money, everybody's money. People want to take your money to add it to theirs. They don't give a fuck if it forces you out on the street and your family has to live in cardboard box. The world just stopped caring in general. It sucks, but it's the way the world works now. Welcome to the new world order. It's called Capitalism. And here comes the next hard truth that you will need to accept - Forex is a cruel bitch of a mistress. She will hurt you. She will torment you. She will give you nightmares. She will keep you awake at night. And then she will tease you with a glimmer of hope to lure you into a false sense of security before she then guts you like a fish and shows you what your insides look like. This statement applies to all trading markets - they are cruel, ruthless, and not for the weak minded. The sooner you accept these truths, the sooner you will become profitable. Don't accept it? That's fine. Don't bother reading any further. If I've offended you I don't give a fuck. You can run back home and hide under your bed. The world doesn't care and neither do I. For what it's worth - I am not normally an major condescending asshole like the above paragraphs would suggest. In fact, if you look through my posts on this subreddit you will see I am actually quite helpful most of the time to many people who come here. But I need you to really understand that Forex is not for most people. It will make you cry. And if the markets themselves don't do it, the people in the markets will. LESSON 1 - LEARN THE BASICS Save yourself and everybody here a bunch of time - learn the basics of forex. You can learn the basics for free - BabyPips has one of the best free courses online which explains what exactly forex is, how it works, different strategies and methods of how to approach trading, and many other amazing topics. You can access the BabyPips course by clicking this link: https://www.babypips.com/learn/forex Do EVERY course in the School of Pipsology. It's free, it's comprehensive, and it will save you from a lot of trouble. It also has the added benefit of preventing you from looking foolish and uneducated when you come here asking for help if you already know this stuff. If you still have questions about how forex works, please see the FREE RESOURCES links on the /Forex FAQ which can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/Forex/wiki/index Quiz Time Answer these questions truthfully to yourself: -What is the difference between a market order, a stop order, and a limit order? -How do you draw a support/resistance line? (Demonstrate it to yourself) -What is the difference between MACD, RSI, and Stochastic indicators? -What is fundamental analysis and how does it differ from technical analysis and price action trading? -True or False: It's better to have a broker who gives you 500:1 margin instead of 50:1 margin. Be able to justify your reasoning. If you don't know to answer to any of these questions, then you aren't ready to move on. Go back to the School of Pipsology linked above and do it all again. If you can answer these questions without having to refer to any kind of reference then congratulations, you are ready to move past being a forex newbie and are ready to dive into the wonderful world of currency trading! Move onto Lesson 2 below. LESSON 2 - RANDOM STRANGERS ARE NOT GOING TO HELP YOU GET RICH IN FOREX This may come as a bit of a shock to you, but that random stranger on instagram who is posting about how he is killing it on forex is not trying to insprire you to greatness. He's also not trying to help you. He's also not trying to teach you how to attain financial freedom. 99.99999% of people posting about wanting to help you become rich in forex are LYING TO YOU. Why would such nice, polite people do such a thing? Because THEY ARE TRYING TO PROFIT FROM YOUR STUPIDITY. Plain and simple. Here's just a few ways these "experts" and "gurus" profit from you:
Referral Links - If they require you to click a specific link to signup for something, it means they are an affiliate. They get a commission from whatever the third party is that they are sending you to. I don't care if it's a brokerage, training program, hell even an Amazon link to a book - if they insist you have to click their super exclusive, can't-get-this-deal-any-other-way-but-clicking-my-link type bullshit, it's an affiliate link. There is nothing inherently wrong with affiliate programs, but you are literally generating money for some stranger because they convinced you to buy something. Some brokers such as ICMarkets have affiliate programs that payout a percentage of the commission you generate - this is a really clever system - whether you profit or blow your entire account, the person who referred you to the broker makes a profit off you. Clever eh?
Signal Services, Education & Training Programs, Courses - If somebody is telling you they are making a killing with a signal service and are trying to convince you to join it, I guarantee they are getting a piece of your monthly fee. And better still, these signal services often work...for about a week. Just long enough to suck a bunch of poor fools into it. You see people making money, you want in so you agree to pay the $200+/month subscription fee. You follow the signals and it looks like it's making money for a few days or weeks. Then it turns sideways, you start losing money hand over fist. Pretty soon you have lost most of your trading account because you blindly followed a signal service. And better still - when you go screaming at the person running the signal service they will be very quick to point you to their No Refunds policy. To add insult to injury, the buttfucker that referred you to the signal service in the past will likely listen to you getting mad, and then come back with something like "Sorry it didn't work out, but I just joined this other amazing service and it's working great, you should come join it to earn your money back. Here's my link..." You get the point here right?
Multi-Level Marketing (MLMs) - These people are scum. They are going to offer you training and education, signals, access to forex experts and gurus, and all kinds of other shit with the promise that you will live the dream and become financially free. They are also loading you into a pyrmaid scheme where you will be hounded to recruit other people and make money off them just like you got roped into it. A really prime example here is iMarkets Live (or IML for short). Don't touch this shit with a 10 foot pole. I don't care what they are claiming, you will lose everything using them.
Fund Managers - These people make my skin crawl. It's a classic scam and it works like this - somebody will post online about how much money they are making trading forex/commodities/stocks/whatever. Most of the time they won't explicitly post they are offering a trading service, rather they just put the message out there and wait for the ignorant masses (that's you) to contact them. They will charm you. They will lie to you. They will promise you the moon if you simply wire them some money or give them API access to your trading account. Care to guess what happens next? If you send a wire transfer (or Western Union...hell any kind of payment to them) they will vanish. Happens usually after they take a bunch of suckers for the ride. You sent them $2,000 and so do 9 other suckers. They just made $20,000 and are gone. With API access to your account, you will find your account gets blown super fast or worse - possibly leaving you open to persecution by the broker you are using.
These are just a few examples. The reality is that very few people make it big in forex or any kind of trading. If somebody is trying to sell you the dream, they are essentially a magician - making you look the other way while they snatch your wallet and clean you out. Additionally, on the topic of fund managers - legitimate fund managers will be certified, licensed, and insured. Ask them for proof of those 3 things. What they typically look like are:
Certified - This varies from country to country, in the US it's FINRA (http://www.finra.org). They need to have their Series 7 certification minimum. You can make the case that other FINRA certifications are acceptable in lieu of Series 7, but the 7 is the gold standard.
Licensed - They need to have a valid business license issued by the government. It must clearly state they are an investment company, preferrably a hedge fund because they have some super strict requirements to operate (and often require $25,000+ in fees just to get their business license, so you know they at least have some skin in the game).
Insured - They need to be backed by an insurance company. I'm not talking general insurance for shit like their office burning down. I'm talking about a government-implemented protection insurance program - in the US I believe that is issued by the Securities Investment Protection Corporation (https://www.sipc.org/).
If you are talking to a fund manager and they are insisting they have all of these, get a copy of their verification documents and lookup their licenses on the directories of the issuers to verify they are valid. If they are, then at least you are talking to somebody who seems to have their shit together and is doing investment management and trading as a professional and you are at least partially protected when the shit hits the fan. LESSON 3 - UNDERSTAND YOUR RISK Many people jump into Forex, drop $2000 into a broker account and start trading 1 lot orders because they signed up with a broker thinking they will get rich because they were given 500:1 margin and can risk it all on each trade. Worst-case scenario you lose your account, best case scenario you become a millionaire very quickly. Seems like a pretty good gamble right? You are dead wrong. As a new trader, you should never risk more than 1% of your account balance on a trade. If you have some experience and are confident and doing well, then it's perfectly natural to risk 2-3% of your account per trade. Anybody who risks more than 4-5% of their account on a single trade deserves to blow their account. At that point you aren't trading, you are gambling. Don't pretend you are a trader when really you are just putting everything on red and hoping the roulette ball lands in the right spot. It's stupid and reckless and going to screw you very quickly. Let's do some math here: You put $2,000 into your trading account. Risking 1% means you are willing to lose $20 per trade. That means you are going to be trading micro lots, or 0.01 lots most likely ($0.10/pip). At that level you can have a trade stop loss at -200 pips and only lose $20. It's the best starting point for anybody. Additionally, if you SL 20 trades in a row you are only down $200 (or 10% of your account) which isn't that difficult to recover from. Risking 3% means you are willing to lose $60 per trade. You could do mini lots at this point, which is 0.1 lots (or $1/pip). Let's say you SL on 20 trades in a row. You've just lost $1,200 or 60% of your account. Even veteran traders will go through periods of repeat SL'ing, you are not a special snowflake and are not immune to periods of major drawdown. Risking 5% means you are willing to lose $100 per trade. SL 20 trades in a row, your account is blown. As Red Foreman would call it - Good job dumbass. Never risk more than 1% of your account on any trade until you can show that you are either consistently breaking even or making a profit. By consistently, I mean 200 trades minimum. You do 200 trades over a period of time and either break-even or make a profit, then you should be alright to increase your risk. Unfortunately, this is where many retail traders get greedy and blow it. They will do 10 trades and hit their profit target on 9 of them. They will start seeing huge piles of money in their future and get greedy. They will start taking more risk on their trades than their account can handle. 200 trades of break-even or profitable performance risking 1% per trade. Don't even think about increasing your risk tolerance until you do it. When you get to this point, increase you risk to 2%. Do 1,000 trades at this level and show break-even or profit. If you blow your account, go back down to 1% until you can figure out what the hell you did differently or wrong, fix your strategy, and try again. Once you clear 1,000 trades at 2%, it's really up to you if you want to increase your risk. I don't recommend it. Even 2% is bordering on gambling to be honest. LESSON 4 - THE 500 PIP DRAWDOWN RULE This is a rule I created for myself and it's a great way to help protect your account from blowing. Sometimes the market goes insane. Like really insane. Insane to the point that your broker can't keep up and they can't hold your orders to the SL and TP levels you specified. They will try, but during a flash crash like we had at the start of January 2019 the rules can sometimes go flying out the window on account of the trading servers being unable to keep up with all the shit that's hitting the fan. Because of this I live by a rule I call the 500 Pip Drawdown Rule and it's really quite simple - Have enough funds in your account to cover a 500 pip drawdown on your largest open trade. I don't care if you set a SL of -50 pips. During a flash crash that shit sometimes just breaks. So let's use an example - you open a 0.1 lot short order on USDCAD and set the SL to 50 pips (so you'd only lose $50 if you hit stoploss). An hour later Trump makes some absurd announcement which causes a massive fundamental event on the market. A flash crash happens and over the course of the next few minutes USDCAD spikes up 500 pips, your broker is struggling to keep shit under control and your order slips through the cracks. By the time your broker is able to clear the backlog of orders and activity, your order closes out at 500 pips in the red. You just lost $500 when you intended initially to only risk $50. It gets kinda scary if you are dealing with whole lot orders. A single order with a 500 pip drawdown is $5,000 gone in an instant. That will decimate many trader accounts. Remember my statements above about Forex being a cruel bitch of a mistress? I wasn't kidding. Granted - the above scenario is very rare to actually happen. But glitches to happen from time to time. Broker servers go offline. Weird shit happens which sets off a fundamental shift. Lots of stuff can break your account very quickly if you aren't using proper risk management. LESSON 5 - UNDERSTAND DIFFERENT TRADING METHODOLOGIES Generally speaking, there are 3 trading methodologies that traders employ. It's important to figure out what method you intend to use before asking for help. Each has their pros and cons, and you can combine them in a somewhat hybrid methodology but that introduces challenges as well. In a nutshell:
Price Action Trading (Sometimes called Naked Trading) is very effective at identifying when trends will start and finish. This gives you the advantage of staying ahead of the market and predicting when a change in trend direction will occur. It has the disadvantage of being really easy to screw it up if you don't plot your support and resistance lines properly and interpret the chart wrong. Because you can identify a change in trend direction, you'll generally make more profit on a new trend than a technical strategy will.
Technical Analytics (or TA) uses math and statistics to try and identify where the market is headed or confirm/reject whether a trend is happening. It has the advantage of being very math and stat driven which is hard to refute the numbers, but it has the disadvantage of being late to the party when it comes to identifying trends (hence why people call TA a lagging strategy). When people fail using TA, it's not because of the math - it's because you misinterpreted what the math is telling you.
Fundamental Analysis (or FA) uses news and macro scale events to predict what is going on. A really good example right now is Brexit, what a clusterfuck that is. Every time some major brexit news breaks it causes all sorts of choas in almost every currency pair. Fundamental trading has the highest potential profitability per trade but it also has the highest potential drawdown per trade.
Now you may be thinking that you want to be a a price action trader - you should still learn the principles and concepts behind TA and FA. Same if you are planning to be a technical trader - you should learn about price action and fundamental analysis. More knowledge is better, always. With regards to technical analysis, you need to really understand what the different indicators are tell you. It's very easy to misinterpret what an indicator is telling you, which causes you to make a bad trade and lose money. It's also important to understand that every indicator can be tuned to your personal preferences. You might find, for example, that using Bollinger Bands with the normal 20 period SMA close, 2 standard deviation is not effective for how you look at the chart, but changing that to say a 20 period EMA average price, 1 standard deviation bollinger band indicator could give you significantly more insight. LESSON 6 - TIMEFRAMES MATTER Understanding the differences in which timeframes you trade on will make or break your chosen strategy. Some strategies work really well on Daily timeframes (i.e. Ichimoku) but they fall flat on their face if you use them on 1H timeframes, for example. There is no right or wrong answer on what timeframe is best to trade on. Generally speaking however, there are 2 things to consider:
Speed - If you are scalping (trading on the really fast candles like 1M, 5M, 15M, etc) odds are your trades are very short lived. Maybe 10 minutes to an hour tops. For the most part, scalping strategies will produce little profit per trade but make up for it in the sheer volume of trades. Whereas swing trading may only make a few trades but each one could be worth a significant amount of money.
Spread (the fee you pay to the broker when you trade) - If you are a scalper, the spread is your worst enemy because you have to overcome it very fast to make a profit on your order. Whereas swing trading the spread hardly impacts you at all.
If you are a total newbie to forex, I suggest you don't trade on anything shorter than the 1H timeframe when you are first learning. Trading on higher timeframes tends to be much more forgiving and profitable per trade. Scalping is a delicate art and requires finesse and can be very challenging when you are first starting out. LESSON 7 - AUTOBOTS...ROLL OUT! Yeah...I'm a geek and grew up with the Transformers franchise decades before Michael Bay came along. Deal with it. Forex bots are called EA's (Expert Advisors). They can be wonderous and devastating at the same time. /Forex is not really the best place to get help with them. That is what /algotrading is useful for. However some of us that lurk on /Forex code EA's and will try to assist when we can. Anybody can learn to code an EA. But just like how 95% of retail traders fail, I would estimate the same is true for forex bots. Either the strategy doesn't work, the code is buggy, or many other reasons can cause EA's to fail. Because EA's can often times run up hundreds of orders in a very quick period of time, it's critical that you test them repeatedly before letting them lose on a live trading account so they don't blow your account to pieces. You have been warned. If you want to learn how to code an EA, I suggest you start with MQL. It's a programming language which can be directly interpretted by Meta Trader. The Meta Trader terminal client even gives you a built in IDE for coding EA's in MQL. The downside is it can be buggy and glitchy and caused many frustrating hours of work to figure out what is wrong. If you don't want to learn MQL, you can code an EA up in just about any programming language. Python is really popular for forex bots for some reason. But that doesn't mean you couldn't do it in something like C++ or Java or hell even something more unusual like JQuery if you really wanted. I'm not going to get into the finer details of how to code EA's, there are some amazing guides out there. Just be careful with them. They can be your best friend and at the same time also your worst enemy when it comes to forex. One final note on EA's - don't buy them. Ever. Let me put this into perspective - I create an EA which is literally producing money for me automatically 24/5. If it really is a good EA which is profitable, there is no way in hell I'm selling it. I'm keeping it to myself to make a fortune off of. EA's that are for sale will not work, will blow your account, and the developer who coded it will tell you that's too darn bad but no refunds. Don't ever buy an EA from anybody. LESSON 8 - BRING ON THE HATERS You are going to find that this subreddit is frequented by trolls. Some of them will get really nasty. Some of them will threaten you. Some of them will just make you miserable. It's the price you pay for admission to the /Forex club. If you can't handle it, then I suggest you don't post here. Find a more newbie-friendly site. It sucks, but it's reality. We often refer to trolls on this subreddit as shitcunts. That's your word of the day. Learn it, love it. Shitcunts. YOU MADE IT, WELCOME TO FOREX! If you've made it through all of the above and aren't cringing or getting scared, then welcome aboard the forex train! You will fit in nicely here. Ask your questions and the non-shitcunts of our little corner of reddit will try to help you. Assuming this post doesn't get nuked and I don't get banned for it, I'll add more lessons to this post over time. Lessons I intend to add in the future:
Why you will blow your first account and what to do when it happens
Trading Psychology (this will be a beefy one and will take a while to put together)
Exotics vs Majors and which you should focus on as a newbie (aka how to blow your account in a single trade with exotics)
How my friend's new boyfriend recruited her into the cult called imarketslive
I've been noticing my friends back in my hometown are getting into financial based MLMs. One of them have gotten way too into it that she moved to a different state with her new boyfriend who's involved in imarketslive for 5-6 years. A little bit of back story, when we were in elementary to middle school, our families were involved in a ponzi scheme. It was later resolved and sent the three head honchos to jail for 20 years each. While that was happening, her mom was involved in an MLM. Before this new bf (let's call him Fred) showed up in her (Chelsea) life, she was in a 4 year relationship with Justin. I hung out with them quite frequently when I had vacation from university. Both were also students though different schools. They did not have the best relationship. They constantly argued especially since Justin has some anger management issues and Chelsea claims to have OCD (I think she has high anxiety at least). They would hit each other and Justin would emotionally abuse Chelsea. For example, he would go on the side of the read to threaten his own life by running into the freeway. Chelsea would feel trapped and couldn't fully express herself without Justin getting angry. Despite this abusive relationship, they made great sacrifices to be together like commuting 1-2hrs to school to live together. They were not financially stable. Justin would spend a lot on anime stuff and Chelsea would go out a lot. Eventually, they decided to join AMWAY which we all know is not a good idea. Anyway, Chelsea always wanted to have her own business so she dropped out of uni to dedicate her time in being a waitress and a "business owner". Finally after 4 years, she broke up with him and Amway. I thought things were going well for her and she even said she wanted to go back to school. Until... she met this new piece of shit. When I first met Fred (they only dated for a week at this point), I thought he was just a chill dude who had positive energy. Just like a good friend does, after I hung out with Chelsea and Fred I snooped into his Facebook and saw he was part of a financial MLM called imarketslive (IML). The worst part was that I saw he tagged Chelsea in a IML convention in Las Vegas. So I thought, "oh shit, she's part of ANOTHER MLM". And likewise, I told her in person the next day that she's part of a pyramid scheme. Then her response truly disturbed me. Chelsea responded, "everything is a pyramid scheme. This what makes me happy". 🤢🤢🤢 You know I was so shocked. I just responded.. "okay, as long as you're happy. I just wanted to watch out for you". The conversation about IML ended there. My other friends and my parents told me not to convince her that it's a bad idea because she's attached to this new guy. This is what I observed about Fred based on his social media accounts. He is painfully positive. Like he gets preachy about positivity. He does facebook lives to tell people to achieve their dreams by getting wealthy. Because apparently, everyone's dream is just to get a lot of money. Not saying that's wrong at all (hell, I want to be rich too). He also is into those motivational speakers especially if they are involved with IML like Les Brown. He believes that forex trading/crypto exchange can help change people's lives. He tries to sell IML's overpriced apps ($200+ a month). And of course with everything fucking MLM, he uses these emojis 😜💥🤔👌🔥💯 and takes them seriously. So why is my friend dating him? Well, she thinks that Fred is a hard working person with a stupid smile. He also recruited her and now she is an "entrepreneur" #BOSSBABE. After dating for like 4 months, they moved to Arizona to spread the fucking "message" about IML. Now they have a large group of people they work with. They always host talks about how IML is a "family" but weirdly never about Forex trading or crypto exchange. They workout and go to church together. They do everything together which is weird. Chelsea claims she's finding herself but really she's in this cult and behaves like everyone else. I think one of the grossest aspects about IML is how they exploit minorities and encourage them to "flex" or have a luxurious lifestyle. I saw on her snapchat about a recent convention in Dallas and most people were Hispanic, African-Americans or Southeast Asian (like her and I). Most of the higher-ups that were speaking were either those races and had some wort of branded luxury accessory like a Gucci belt. Fred has these Gucci slip-on sneakers and that's about it. It also seems like the group of people Fred and Chelsea are always with try to humble brag about how they used to be poor and now they claim to make 6 figures. Now, Fred and Chelsea constantly post about positive quotes and financial stability advice (lmao). I don't reach out to Chelsea anymore because I do not agree with her lifestyle and I am a non-believer in IML and God. So apparently, I am a negative force. I've known her for 14 years and she became a completely different person because of this stupid cult-like MLM. She used to think things through properly, but I think after her abusive ex she thinks Fred is her light and soul. TLDR; My friend was involved with Amway with and abusive ex and dropped out of school. Broke up and started to live her life again. Met a douche-bag 6 months later who recruited her to imarketslive which caused them to move to Arizona to recruit more people and be more into the cult-like MLM. She doesn't want to talk to me anymore because I do not agree with IML.
I'm a new member of this MLM, looking for advice, opinions, warnings, experiences, etc.
(EDIT: This issue has been resolved, skip to the bottom of the post. IML seems to be a scam after all. I've left my OP intact for historical reference.) (OP begin:) Greetings. I'll get right to it so I don't waste your time. I'm a new member of the company known as iMarketsLive - specifically the UK branch. For those who aren't familiar, iMarketsLive is a company which deals with forex trading education, provides tools to assist members in predicting market conditions (and thus make more profitable trades) such as the Harmonic Scanner, and you must pay a membership fee in order to make use of the tools and education they provide. In return for recruiting people, and successfully assisting them with their trading ambitions, you get ever-increasing commissions with a ceiling of GBP500,000 a month. I'm pretty pleased with my experience so far, since everyone in my upline have been very patient and constructive people - they even run self development programs. After reading some of the posts here, however, it seems like some people have had a nightmarish time of it, dealing with leaders who are more akin to hardcore salesmen looking for cheap advertising labor, and little else. The man who seems to be at the pinnacle of my particular upline is a man named Vincent, who manages us pretty well and is the primary one that runs said self development programs unrelated to trading or even the MLM side of things. I'll leave it up to you to decide. I've decided to be brave and post here, since I'd like to have a clear view of this business in my mind before I decide to recruit people into my own downline. I'll have no problems exiting it if the arguments put forward are convincing enough. I'm an ex-JW, so if I have no issues leaving a cult, then I won't have any issues leaving a scam. I have a theory as to why our experiences may be different, however: I think it depends on the people in your upline, and what country you're in, since according to their downline managing software, you are ultimately in charge of who's in your downline, and how you treat them is up to you. This would explain the entirely different cultures we've seen within the same company - though, I suppose many large companies can be like this. TLDR: I'm happy with my forex results and community environment I'm in, and I know anyone I recruit personally will be treated well by myself and my upline, but that doesn't mean I have a clear picture of the company as a whole. Post opinions, advice, warnings, experiences, suggestions or any questions about my own experiences, before I make my mind up. If you want more information on myself personally, ask away and I'll post it here. (OP end.) EDIT: Please read the rules before commenting or voting. I'm following them, so should you. EDIT 2: I've moved Sneekpreview's links in the comments here since they're very much relevant to anyone researching IML in the future. They've actually been sued. https://www.cftc.gov/sites/default/files/2018-09/enfinternationalorder091418.pdfhttps://www.reddit.com/Forex/comments/9tvr3j/is_imarketslive_a_scam/https://www.reddit.com/Forex/comments/84shxs/six_days_with_imarketslive_and_what_i_think_of/https://www.institutionalinvestor.com/article/b19fcfsc2n7jw6/Is-This-Company-a-Forex-Trading-Pyramid-Scheme https://outline.com/qEjEdk https://ethanvanderbuilt.com/2016/06/01/imarketslive-warning/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_WOqiNmMNU https://www.fsma.be/en/warnings/fsma-warns-public-against-activities-international-markets-live-ltd-imarketslive
Hey. I'm not really a Forex trader and I haven't been introduced to it until today, but I've been offered to use IML and after some investigation my gears are definitely grinded. I'm from Latin America and IML is trying desperately to reach out to young people in my country and I found warnings about IML from the trade commissions and financial authorities of Belgium, Spain, France and the UK, but NONE from the SEC or FINRA (Sorry if I got the names wrong, I'm not well versed in this stuff). How come? I'll leave the links below. I thought to leave them here for anyone that has been offered sevices by IML.
DISCLAIMER: I’m pretty drunk right now so I’ll try to be coherent as possible. TLDR: Friend in new relationship is with a guy involved with an MLM called imarketslive and thinks EVERYTHING pyramid scheme. I come back home from college and I hang out with my friend that I’ve known for since 3rd grade. We’re 22- 23 right now so it’s significant. She dropped out of university a few years ago because her ex was manipulative. He got into Amway with her and they were doing that with a CNA job. Eventually, they brook up and she found a new guy who was involved with a different mlm called IML or imarketslive which involves buying a software subscription to learn about FOREX training. I confronted her how I was worried what she was getting into and tried to convince her that it’s not a good thing to be involved. She says she supports her new BF and she “knows” what she’s getting for into despite still phony her debt from Amway. What should I do to convince her to leave? Or is she far too gone from saving ?
Six Days With iMarketsLive and what I think of what they have to offer- since I have not found anything more in my research than "they're an obvious scam- it's not worth your time" and no actual reviews of what they do.
First my expectations: I've been looking at iML as a way to get a 'mentored start' with forex trading- As well as to get access to take a look at what kinds of trades some more experienced traders are making- in order to add that to my own fledgling market exposure. I had also hoped that if I could identify when one of their traders was making a very obvious good move I'd be able to mirror the trade, and make a bit of profit. I stepped in fully prepared to withstand all their bro-hype making it very clear that I would never involve myself in their bullshit pyramid recruiting. My two goals were to see if my education could be expedited, and to make enough to pay off the monthly fee. Here's what I got: Immediately my "mentor" sent me a plan that I was to follow (without skipping ahead) listing my progression through their forex education program. The first 30 days (which cost ~$220) was learning forex trading basics buy watching a series of 5-10 minute PPT presentation videos introducing you to forex trading for 1 hour each day. and it seems like good information, but as far as I can tell it doesn't seem like anything you couldn't learn for free. I fully expect babypips to have all the same information and probably presented in much clearer terms.) The next 30 days (~$190) is tuning in to live or recorded videos to watch iML traders analyzing charts and trading, probably showing how they use stop losses, draw trendlines etc. At this point we are directed to consult our mentor to choose a non U.S. regulated broker that will let us use the leverages used in the strategies they employ, and then start a demo trading on metatrader. The next 60 days (2 months x $190) is continuing to demo trade while subscribing ($15 monthly) to the swipetrades app (which seems to me like mirror trading (basically you look at trades other iML people [of your choice] have made and swipe left to reject, swipe right to copy all the trade info -entry points, stop losses etc- for pasting into MT4) and continuing to watch the iML TV traders. You are also supposed to subscribe to the super bro-powered harmonic analyzer at this point (another $15/month) which you hook up to your MT4 account and set up alerts or something, but apparently you have to leave it ruining on your PC at home all day? I'm seeing that a lot of new recruits keep complaining in the group chat that they can't get their computer to stay awake and ensure they get their mobile alerts. (Any chance having their "harmonic analyzer" running 24/7 while your away could be sketchy?) After these 4 months of education and practice that cost you ($850-$910) you may fund your account and begin trading. Observed cons: -Well... The whole thing is a con if you ask me. Can any of you tell me any one thing I've mentioned that you cannot access for free elsewhere? -You have to pay $190/month for the privilege of subscribing to a $60/month service. That's pretty well bullshit. -CONSTANT STREAMS OF BRO TALK, ENDLESS BRAINWASHING ABOUT HOW GREAT iML IS, AND THE iML "FAMILY." -generally no "negative" attitudes/messages are allowed in the iML Telegram chat rooms. This pretty much just means that they don't appreciate it much if you talk too much about any losing streaks you may be on, or (more probably) if you notice you're making consistent losses by following any particular iML trader. In my opinion the fact that this was mentioned at all is a huge strike against any potential transparency about how this all actually works out for the average recruit. Pros: In actually digging the idea of a very active forex chatroom where people comment on their predictions for what's going to happen with which pairs, and how previous trades turned out for them where you get mobile notifications when traders post. If it was treated more professionally in a more mature crowd, without all the pretention of "family" (the truth is we're ALL competing here), and the bro talk, and with the disclaimer that you're responsible for your own risks, this could be a great learning tool. If there is something similar out there that I'm unaware of, if love to hear about it. Anyhow that's my $0.02. Now I'm off to go cancel my account and get my refund. Cheers! TL;DR: they're an obvious scam, not worth your time.
Hey guys. So a friend has been showing me that he's been making a fair amount of money doing Forex trading. I had no clue whatsoever what Forex was, so I did some research. Made a demo account, played with it and stuff but basically I have no idea what I'm doing as I'm currently an Electrical and Computer Engineering student with no business background whatsoever. He has an active subscription with IML and is part of a gigantic group of individuals who trade and help each other out and also try recruiting new people due to the compensation packages IML offers for recruitment. Now, Reddit was the first place I searched for the legitimacy of IML and everything I have found so far has been negative. I attended a conference with a group of these people trying to market IML and there was a fairly large turnout and due to the amount of individuals involved, I found it difficult to believe this is a scam considering that they only make money if the people they recruit actually STAY and pay monthly subscriptions, and obviously a person will not stay paying a $150USD subscription if they're not making money. They have weekly seminars and classes on trading and stuff as a group and seem to be very serious about not letting the people they recruit be fish out of water. I trust the person who told me about it a fair amount but it's still a hefty investment and I want more reassurance before I get into it. I'm a student and really could use the extra money, can anyone give me some advice about if this would be a good idea, please? And if in fact IML is legitimate and their signals and scanners do work.

To summarize my experience with the "product." It is 99.9% stalling and wasting your time with shit like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za3tUUoj2iQ and hyping their own products. Dudes acting like "whaaaaaaaa" and showing phone screens with profits. Facebook is flooded with these people showing off how their boy "[insert name here]" is selling money and yada yada. Most of the content they post and host is just recruitment hype videos to bring more people in. Seriously... Like all day every day it felt like. Most the videos feature some hipsters and text screenshots of them being like: "OMG I gots some mad pips brah, 100 million pipz lulz #winning [intense sarcasm]." Do yourself a favor and unfriend anyone who tries to sell you this shit. Because they are not your friend, and they view you as a $35 a month paycheck if you sign up. Most the common stuff you see in groups is people touting the wins, but don't fool yourself... Everyone is keeping their losses quiet because no one wants to make a fool out of themselves. I mean who makes videos of them watching someone else in video chat? Someone who doesn't know what the hell their doing or how to work technology... Which they happen to have some miracle program that will "change" your life. Oh, and the haters, HA you should just ignore them because they all don't like grape koolaide. TL:DR Oh, look ma some YOLO saying swag fags are saying they can teach me to make mad bread. But it is just a job selling a job selling jobs to other people who in turn will be selling said jobs to others who will do the same. 4/24/16 EDIT This is the kind of shit that constantly keeps popping up in my feeds and spamming my cell phone in texts. Can someone explain to me why iML (imarketlive) is a scam?
Now, I have already seen posts that said iML is a scam. But I guess, I'm in that state of self-deception and I want to believe that it's not. Right now, I have a foot invested in iML that cost me $1 to get access to everything except IBO. It been about 2 weeks now and, as a newbie, everything seems great and legit. Until I saw reddit's posts regarding iML. Since I don't want to be a fool, I'm posting this topic hoping that you guys can convinced my self-deception that this is truly a scam. 1st off, on the first training video, you can hear CEO terry saying that "Results are not typical and past performance doesn't guarantee future results." which immediately made me lower my "bullshit" guard and further believe that this is legit, because it sounds like a real life situation. I tried their autotrader aka fx signal live, (with demo of $5,000 USD) which I find it to be super slow in gain. Withing 2 weeks it went from initial to $5,121. Seems like crap to me, but at least it's bring in profit. So nothing that trigger my "bullshit" radar here since the rate feels realistic to me. Now, the harmonic scanner seems to be working best for me, (again in demo money) I win some and I lose some, but ultimately, I win more than lose, so I was in the profit. Which again, seems realistic to me, since the harmonic scanner is not 100% accuracy. So far, with the demo account and the harmonic scanner, I learn to control myself a bit more when I lose money, and I learn to be patient and learn to study the market (when to enter, exit, etc) based on my experience, I just honestly don't understand how iML can be a scam. But I'm just a new trader, so I'm probably wrong when compared to you guys. Sorry for my ignorance, but I will really appreciate your input on this. For the time being, I will check out https://www.reddit.com/Forex/wiki/index and try to learn more information. P.S. please note that I am not an IBO so I don't have any experience with iML's MLM system. IMO, being an IBO seems like hard work just for $35. So I don't understand why would anyone want to be an IBO.
Meditation Success: Nibbles Emerges as a Spirit Guide @ 1:11 a.m (1/12/2017)
I know as a I write this I am in the correct place; when I started this sentence It was precisely 1:11 a.m on Thursday 1/12/2017. Or ‘11’ ‘11’ 2+2 = ‘4’ and ‘17 11 11 4 17 Ok universe I get it; ‘mind the repeating patterns we harass you with ten times per day, stay in school and say no to drugs!’ Very big changes are continuing to unfold in my life; specifically when I take the time to do a deep guided meditation once per week. Pandora’s box has pretty much been opened since the ‘I am energy’ break-through meditation at my 'now spiritual leader’s' Jigar Shah’s house under the scornful eye of a giant portrait of Shiva while Jigar placed an orgone energy pyramid in my hand. Every other ‘hour deep meditation’ I do now results in pretty much ‘miracle experiences’ for me. I just never get to write and organize them! The recent one happened less then an hour ago. Before I decided ‘holy shit the only thing I can actually accomplish is a deep meditation’. Nothing else sounded ‘fun’. It was completely a bad day for me. I was in a state of depression and confusion as my ‘pain body’ had sent out a crippling flair through the entirety of my physical being. I was stunned… I sulked around my house despite being rested as if I had just escaped a Minotaur attack on my way to the grocery store earlier. But I had not been physically attacked by a mythical creature; it was purely mental. Purely spiritual; purely emotional. This has always been my worse enemy. But tonight was different.. I had never had the ability to seek meditation and 'miraculously heal myself'. I guess it makes sense... I had to heal myself before attempting to heal anyone else in a life-changing meaningful way as a friend, lover, teacher, or mentor in anything. I ‘accidentally’ used an hour deep guided meditation to turn the pain body against itself. It actually jolted me into the ‘only thing’ I could do at the time: ‘an unknown hour meditation’ I choose one off youtube from Joe Treacy : ‘Guided Meditation- Clearing Negativity with your Spirit Guide’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruRChvQUVMw It was 40 minutes, but it took me 20 minutes of preparation with a sage cleanse and some other nonsense to get myself in the perfect state for exploration. I looked at about 30 other titles before I selected this meditation (I needed completely new, but decided to scroll titles until something 'called to me' or 'felt right'). I’m not sure why I picked it; something about it just ‘sounded fun’ at a time where nothing else in the physical universe FELT or SOUNDED FUN. I found myself unable to even consider going to a local bar 10 minutes away and trying kiss a local girl (well at a minimum). NO NO NO… .a GUIDED MEDITATION WITH A WHITE TIGER ON IT SOUNDED BETTER? Yes; this is what life has become at this point! At the time the selection sounded reasonable; looking back I’m not quite sure… I mean it’s a 10 minute drive man? I wasn’t really expecting anything, but after about 30 minutes IN A DEEP meditative state things exploded into discovery and I felt purely blessed to experience any of it. In the ultimate twist of fate NIBBLES revealed herself as my spirit guide; the first one I’ve met. The ‘good omen cat’ that I have been writing about like a lunatic for the past few months in this sub-channel suddenly appeared in the meditation. I intuitively created a happy place (as Joe instructed); which was myself chilling outside of my new house I was so grateful for in the sunshine. The wild turkey was stupidly pecking at seeds in at the edge of my woods and lawn. I was sitting on the chair on my small, but fantastic patio with my hookah. Nibbles (the wild cat I feed daily) was in some sort of cat-basket on the table. I guess we had become slightly better friends! But not all was well… Scribbles the evil omen cat lurked near by. Rather then ‘becoming scared’ in the meditation (as Scribbles is an evil spirit guide or force who should have far more power in this realm... the cat was now preparing to inflict chaos upon myself the human) I intuitively rose to the challenge and strategically lured ‘Scribbles’ closer as a game to 'fuck with him' and 'play dumb' (as if I didn't know his plans and treated it like a dream). I even said ‘SCRIBBLES!’ ‘Such a good cat; you must be hungry right!’ (he knows damn well he has stolen Nibbles food and he is almost positive I want Nibbles around and not him). This was clearly displayed a week ago when both cats were present and I apparently empathically casted Scribbles as I raised my arm with a fierce point into the wilderness. Scribbles responded a split second later as he turned into a full sprint towards the hills; as Nibbles casually froze before walking up to the closed glass door which I stood behind. The situation in the meditative state remained crystal clear as Scribbles of course tried to come in to fuck with the happy place; as always. As he attempted to cross the invisible border 'between my lawn and the forest' the turkey Immediately CAME DIRECTLY AT SCRIBBLES; and chased him away. Nibbles and I started laughing. It was perhaps then I 100% knew Nibbles was far more then just a cat. I then intuitively pieced together in a flash that perhaps Nibbles was here for a reason; he selected to be incarnated as a cat on this planet by free-will to learn when he was previously a conscious being else-where. He purposely selected to NOT HAVE A CONSCIOUS HUMAN MIND HERE, but he did select purpose of helping other third-density or 'human' light workers; and he wanted to hopefully become one… He also took joy in the opportunity to actually ‘act as a spirit guide’ for certain humans that seeked her guidance. This was tied to her purpose- offering assistance to lost people like me could eventually help her incarnate as a human in this world during a future life; to even have the ability of conscious thinking mind... So uh … here we were. 'Look at the coward flee!!' In an instant Nibbles realized fully I had of course ‘knew way to much’. Apparently in the spiritual realm Nibbles if far more then 'just a cat': in an instant her physical form changed into something on two legs with MASSIVE BRIGHT blue eyes standing well over five feet tall. The best way I could describe the newly formed entity was almost some sort of ‘Protoss being’ (from Star-caft the video game… shut up don’t be hating!) Perhaps a Zealot without swords drawn; only female and dressed more fashionably!... She looked like a higher energy of slight good and order; but war-like in another dimension by nature and not to be fucked with. She was not of bad nature; just unbelievable intimidating and more powerful then I could comprehend. I was not frightened in the least (Nibbles suddenly turning into an unidentified female being that could probably take over half the world in a day would be perhaps the 11th worst thing that happened in my life during the past 3 months); but I was prepared for anything (do your worst right?). I still knew at my core the being and I were 'companions' and had each-others best interests in mind... well for the most part... Eventually paths were laid about before me from our little ‘sanctuary’. It was just us now as we sort of agreed maybe it was best for Nibbles to stay in the form of a cat… so she had turned back into a cat sitting close in front of me, but was STARRING ME DOWN locked with MASSIVE blue eyes 5 times the normal size of a blue-eyed human. "Nibbles… alright… there is no way I’m picking the path with you staring at me like that or I faked: ‘please nibbles be my friend… I need you as a cat brah!’… All I knew was I couldn't trust Nibbles in this state; her ego was somehow involved or my ego was threatened. I preferred thinking about things for a moment without being stared down by a 'cracked out' Nibbles. There is still trust to be developed with Nibbles and it was mutually understood... it worked… Nibbles turned the other way as a cat sleeping ‘or pretending to be sleeping’ as I could no longer see her face; just the ball of the same sleeping (previously abandoned) Persian wild-cat I feed who sneaks up and meows for no reason. Well other then to tell me about her day and perhaps a little snack of deli-cat! The first path 'choice' mentioned by Joe was one of ‘Spirituality’. Well I mean obviously; I mean I did kind of choose that to even be in this ridiculous situation. Stubbornly enough I still did not consider that the ‘proven path’ yet (my ego fully returned!) because the entire point of constructing this ‘present moment’ was to create a relaxing ‘happy place’ where the spirit guide and I could discuss things such as the terror-bird wild turkey that just randomly showed up and chased out scribbles the obviously evil omen cat/influence. It was amusing that ‘Scribbles’ didn’t even realize I already fully knew he is an evil omen of sorts well before the meditation started; and Nibbles is in fact good. I had already took a side... I 100% figured that out many moons ago. Scribbles must think I have the spiritual awareness of a pineapple. And well he is probably right; but still luckily underestimates me to no end. Either way the path choices sprawled out in a fury before me. I intuitively knew I would trust Nibbles far more then sprinting alone into one of the random paths... so I decided to put more trust in the guide as I had trusted her as 'good-hearted' from the first moment I met her in real life (the first night I moved into my new place completely alone looking to rebuild my life; as she stood eerily close to the back window-slider starring. I knew she was just curios in a friendly way; and would be fortunate to ever see her again.) She wouldn't appear again until two months later a day after I randomly decided to 'buy deli cat' as I was at a grocery store 'just in case that cool persian cat ever returned'. The next day I placed the food out in a bowl and the same cat showed up to eat it in less then an hour. Shortly after I was feeding the cat daily. However, she would normally only eat 'a quarter of the bowl' and 'take a nibble'. So the legend of Nibbles was born. Shortly after, I knew if the bowl was full gone; it was the work of Scribbles 'the other cat' who devoured all in sight. I had not named scribbles, I have to give my friend 'Donald The Deal Man' credit for that one. During the deep meditative state I had confidence that Nibbles had my best interest in mind so I tried to pet Nibbles and she immediately ran off into one of the paths as I strategically expected and was the best case scenario result (in real life I have never been able to pet her, but she will sneak up a foot from me and meow meow meow). The Persian breeds are social; but this one is abandoned and still correctly frightened of any humans. She doesn’t want to be fully domesticated ever again… she wants to be part wild; and who would blame her? Still in the deep meditative state I sprinted off into the path that Nibbles had selected … The path was to represent the one thing I would do new to add ‘life’ and ‘drive’ into my present moment (as Joe Treacy suggested) in life; which I was desperately lacking in a state of loss and confusion with an activated pain body a mere 2 hours before. AS previously brought up in the same meditation I should ease into Forex trading under the recommendation of my friend I always considered 'unoffical spiritual leader' ‘Jigar Shah' aka 'Killer Instinct'. I considered this before the meditation, but it seemed over-whelming and my plan made no sense. An hour a day actually made sense. I learned I should go WITH THE FLOW and commit one hour per day of FOREX study as a daily effective habit; not binge it like poker until you burn out and kill every piece of fun out of it. I should not be afraid to take the chance; but ease into it as a daily effective habit and rationally re-evaluate after a month. I am already an IML member and Jigar is also my up-line. The main reason I joined the company was to ‘be more social’ as I was losing touch with good friends fast… I had become isolated to the point of almost completely losing touch with my main private poker group; a second family to me. My local friends were for the most part gone as a result of my demand for isolation and privacy after a near-death experience. In addition to improving social areas; I trust the resources available in the company to make side income in addition to poker as well. And who the fuck can out-work the Boo-Train? NOBODY! Anyways sorry.... meditation right: The past me would have gone out and attempted to get into all sorts of trouble at a local club night to give into all sorts of distractions to avoid the emotional pain. The new me was not trying to get laid since the last parasitic nightmare of a relationship (rather hiding from that fate); I needed to rebuild in isolation. It was a choice to be isolated; to take the pain and emerge stronger... It hurt like hell, but it was necessary for growth.… this is the time I would grow up. This time I would suffer fully with the mistake of my most recent ‘sexual partner choice’. It was time to grow up and actually 'get the lesson'. There was no going back for the reason of ‘horny as hell’ enough is enough. This was why you ran into her public on a one in a million impossible 'chance' not even a week ago (first time out in months for a friends bday); a clearly ‘meant to happen’ experience; but not meant to hook up again. Enough is enough; there is a time to be sexually reckless and a time to not be; but there is never a time to go back to the past. All we ever have is the now; the present now. Be here; be now… How can one not enjoy the now? So some-how that one little ‘push’ changed everything. I stopped my overwhelmed anxiety infested human thinking mind just long enough for Nibbles to scratch a shred of direction into me; it stopped the pain body in it's tracks. Clearly you can EASE INTO SOMETHING responsibly as a daily effective habit. Life is not meant to be ‘added stress’. New situations and challenges are meant to be ‘added experiences to enjoy’ not 'forced hours to produce X amount of dollars for unspecified reasons' Go with the flow... And clearly poker is not to be neglected; just win the Borgata main event at the end of the month for +$700,000 and make sure you're logging the volume to at least log $1500 profit no matter what playing 100NL. Set the goal LOW NOT HIGH; live low-key life for a moment; just like the first two years you started out full time. This creates discipline and an enjoyable experience to learn; rather then stressing the fuck out for no reason like your ego insists that you do by default: which you have been doing in a misery almost as bad as 'your corporate job out of college' for countless years. You have become your own corporate; that's the truth you could never see. That was never the life you set out for as you fought hard for increased freedom. You have been going against the 'grain of life' for far too long now; it is uncalled for. It is far from healthy physically or emotionally. Sure you had to play 'catch up a little' to escape the doomed path but enough is enough. Let life work for you for once. Life is not meant to be 'corporate' and 'rigid' it is meant to be 'natural cycles of effort; some insane; some low volume' and 'flow' Something I've been struggling with that didn't come up in the meditation was a 'writers block' in relation to the actual writing project I'm supposed to do for my publisher; who is also my friend and pretty much one of the only people who has actually believed in me about anything. So after the meditation I SPRINTED UPSTAIRS to write this... at least I can write something. I'm confident when I'm ready to actually focus and go after the final small creative entry to complete the project it will be that much better; and it will not be against the flow. May Nibbles triumph as Scribbles eternally 'stalks' in the shadows.
